STARRING ROLE FOR ETROP GRANGE
August 2008
Folio Hotel's Etrop Grange, at Manchester Airport, has been given four star status by the AA.
The new grading follows a £1.8 million investment for the Grade II listed Georgian mansion completed last year which has encompassed 64 bedrooms, the lobby and Coach House Restaurant and Bar, giving it a modern, town house style interior.
"This is great news for the hotel. We are popular because we are not like a normal airport hotel. We are more like a traditional country house, and we now have a fantastic product to go with this beautiful building." said John O'Reilly, general manager.
The AA report highlighted hospitality as a 'key strength' of the hotel. This was reinforced by the hotel also retaining an AA rosette for its restaurants.
Head chef Bryn Evans is rapidly earning a reputation for his innovative British dishes including: salad of English cured ham with whipped peas and broad beans; pan fried wild sea trout and 'wrapped' local rabbit with black pudding ravioli and Cheshire vegetables, served with hand baked breads.
Etrop Grange also has 10 meeting rooms with a maximum capacity of 100 delegates. Other facilities include free internet access for guests using or visiting the hotel and car parking.
