FOLIO HOTELS ADD HOTEL IN MANCHESTER CITY CENTRE

Folio Hotels has acquired the lease to the 85 room Princess on Portland Hotel in Manchester city centre for an undisclosed sum.
Situated in a former silk warehouse in Portland Street, the building was originally converted into a hotel in 1982. The hotel features the popular Brasserie on Portland and the Bar on Portland, both favourite meeting spots.
Folio plans to develop the property later in the year into a four star 'townhouse style' hotel.
Folio Hotels already operates the acclaimed Etrop Grange Hotel near Manchester Airport. Located in an elegant Grade II listed Georgian mansion, the hotel is currently undergoing an investment programme.
"Manchester city centre was definitely on the target list as far as expansion plans for Folio Hotels are concerned. We are fortunate to have acquired the Princess on Portland which enjoys such a central location," said Matthew Welbourn, Group Managing Director.
