Makeney Hall is favourite venue "Four Weddings"
July 09
When it comes to staging a wedding, Makeney Hall Hotel in Derbyshire certainly knows how to make the day special for any happy couple.
Now it would seem that four newly wed brides agree after voting the Folio Hotel top venue in the latest edition of Living TV's 'Four Weddings' programme.
The brides appearing in the show broadcast (July 27) were asked to judge each of their weddings on several criteria including the dress and the venue. The bride with the highest score won a dream honeymoon.
Contestants voted 24-year-old, trainee teacher Amber Chatwin's, wedding the best. Her family splashed out on a vintage style traditional English wedding with a ceremony at National Trust owned Kedelston Hall followed by a three course wedding breakfast at Makeney Hall in Belper, Derbyshire.
"Makeney Hall is a very popular venue for weddings. Brides love the beautiful Victorian mansion. It is unique and the six acres of landscaped grounds with stunning views across Amber Valley provide a perfect backdrop for those all important wedding photos," said Nick Henry, general manager Makeney Hall Hotel.
"We are delighted that the four brides voted Makeney Hall the best venue on the programme and we were glad that we were able to make a contribution towards making Amber's day special," he added.
Makeney Hall is licensed for civil wedding ceremonies and partnerships and also has a qualified wedding planner based at the venue.
Couples have a choice of four rooms to hold their wedding or reception including The Conservatory, with capacities ranging from 12 to 140 guests.
