Folio Hotels is a privately owned company operating a collection of 36, three and four star hotels in England and Scotland. The group has a strong British pedigree specialising in individual hotels with plenty of character, providing a refreshing alternative to corporate hotel chains.
Almost half of the hotels are in listed buildings; most are conveniently located in or close to town centres or minutes from major motorways. Many are set in landscaped grounds, eight are by water and eight have extensive leisure facilities. Several hotels offer indoor or outdoor pools and there is golf at Tewkesbury Park in Gloucestershire and Hall Garth Country Club, Darlington.
Folio Hotels are traditionally run but modern in their approach. Each hotel is individual and committed to delivering service while never sacrificing the local flavour that makes them special. For example, restaurant menus feature local produce.
Founded in 2005 as a group of five hotels, Folio has pursued a dynamic expansion strategy and grown rapidly. New developments in the centre of Manchester and Liverpool were announced recently with further projects planned.
Substantial sums of money are being invested into the portfolio of hotels to ensure that they offer traditional interiors with a modern twist, delivering the kind of facilities that customers expect. Six hotels have been upgraded to four star status for the first time this year, all helping to contribute to the company’s strategy to become a leading operator within the hospitality sector.
