BUCKERELL LODGE EXETER BECOMES FOUR STAR HOTEL
November 2008
The 54-room Buckerell Lodge Hotel in Exeter has been elevated from three to four star status by the AA
The new grading follows a £1.5 million refurbishment by Folio Hotels, who operate the hotel, together with an investment in new training programmes for staff.
"The plan to take the Buckerell Lodge Hotel from three to four stars has required a massive culture change and intensive training to which the team has responded superbly. We now intend to build on this by further improving our standards of hospitality so that the Buckerell Lodge becomes the first choice for people who live and work in Exeter as well as visitors to the area," said General Manager Tony Cannon.
The Buckerell Lodge Hotel was originally a private dwelling, built in 1878 on a site once owned by the Veitch family of Exeter. Their legacy lives on in the many trees scattered throughout the four acres of landscaped gardens.
Buckerell Lodge has six meeting rooms with a maximum capacity of 80 delegates. There is free WiFi internet access for guests using or visiting the hotel. The hotel also operates the Raffles Restaurant and Bar.
Buckerell Lodge is part of Folio Hotels which operates 36 hotels in England and Scotland.
