FOLIO HOTELS LAUNCHES A TEAM OF QUALIFIED WEDDING PLANNERS ACROSS THE UK

As The Wedding Planner, the Hollywood film starring Jennifer Lopez proved, these organisers have a key role to play in the success of a bride and groom's big day. Weddings can represent one of the biggest financial commitments that people make in their lives so it is important that someone skilled is on hand to make sure all the arrangements go smoothly.
That is why Folio Hotels has become the first hotel company in the country to offer its own accredited wedding planner service to bride and grooms planning to tie the knot in one of their 36 hotels in England and Scotland. The training that these wedding planners receive will include information about how to organise ethnic weddings, wedding etiquette, cost control and a wedding knowledge test.
Folio Hotels are a very popular choice for weddings. Almost half the hotels are in listed buildings, for example Windsor’s Harte & Garter, which is opposite the castle. Many of the hotels have beautiful grounds – sixteen have picturesque waterside settings for example - for those all important photographs. There is an extensive choice of function rooms, often with great views and good menu selections for the wedding breakfast. All their properties are very individual with a strong British pedigree and provide a refreshing alternative to corporate hotel chains.
It is because weddings are so important to Folio Hotels that the company decided to take a bold step and devise a training programme which is solely concerned with wedding organisation. Each hotel has at least one member of staff who has undergone training and once they have completed some project work they will become fully qualified wedding planners.
"Getting married can be a stressful occasion so we wanted to go that extra mile by having someone on hand at each of our hotels who is specifically trained to provide real support to help the bride and groom get the maximum enjoyment from their big day without worrying about the nitty gritty details," said Martyn Ball, Learning and Development Manager, Folio Hotels.
