For a taste of history, head to the Royal Pump Room Museum, housed at the site of Europe's strongest sulphur well, which tells the intriguing story of how Harrogate became a spa town.

Within the town you will find The Valley Gardens, a wonderful garden which includes a café, crazy golf, pitch and put, tennis courts, children's playground , boating pond and a walk into the Pinewoods which takes you to Harrogate's second Betty's Café Tea Rooms at RHS Garden Harlow Carr.

Put on your walking boots and get out and about to the Yorkshire Dales. Brisk country air and a breathtaking landscape with rolling green hills and heather carpeted moorland await, including Nidderdale, a local area of outstanding natural beauty.
